sunset The American Heritage Rivers (AHR) is made up of community partners who are committed to find innovative solutions to clean up their rivers, rejuvenate the areas that surround them, and promote economic revitalization. In 2007 an alliance was formed to build an effective and capable host of resources, which are available through a national network of River Navigators and community partners.

•  AHR represents fourteen rivers that have direct contact to 150 million people.

•  AHR connects local communities to the federal government through the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

•  AHR brings requests, initiatives and projects from the grassroots to the federal government.

•  AHR forms a channel to deliver guidance, assistance and resources from the federal government to the communities most in need of environmental and economic revitalization.

•  AHR represents a national framework for accomplishing community goals nationwide.

•  AHR supports local cultural imperatives within each of the locales we serve.
